ABOUT THE RANCH

The MacKenzie Highland Ranch LLC is a small family run guest ranch specializing in independent living.  Our prices are reasonable and our location is ideal.  We will rent you a cabin or house (most with kitchen facilities) and help you pursue your own agenda. 

 

You can set your own schedule and do what you want to do, when you want to do it.  Sleep in, ride the trails, view the scenery, snowshoe, cross country ski, fish, hunt, take a dog sled ride, or just relax and do nothing. 

 

We are permitted to operate on the Shoshone National Forest and BLM land.  Our ranch was patented in 1921 before the Shoshone National Forest was named.  It was a stagecoach stop on the way to Yellowstone.  One of the first cabins was constructed in 1890.  One of our buildings is home to a Research Program on butterflies and moths.  (Lepitoptery)
